Hi, I’m Nathan, the Founder and Managing Director of Source Control.
I established Source Control to fuse my two passions within Financial Trading & Technical Recruitment after identifying a niche in the market around Low Latency & Distributed Systems hiring within the global Trading Technology sphere.
I am a seasoned Technology Recruiter benefiting from over 10 years of dedicated technical headhunting experience, I have worked with businesses of all different shapes and sizes from start-ups, SME’s and global enterprise clients and understand first hand the difficulties hiring within a niche landscape and how best to attract top level talent that is individually suited to meet clients’ expectations.
Throughout my career I have proven to be an accomplished consultant and leader, being consecutively recognised as the year-on-year top achiever in previous roles and having been personally shortlisted for nomination as“2019 Permanent Recruitment Consultant of the Year” at the nationwide recruitment IRP Awards

I take a methodical approach to recruitment. Firstly, I ensure I have booked a meeting with any client (new or old) to ensure I properly understand their hiring needs and consult with them to ensure hiring expectations are in line with market conditions and we have built a solid “candidate profile” to take to market. Once I begin a search campaign I methodically search and headhunt within my existing network, database, competitors and various other tools such as LinkedIn, Reddit, Twitter in addition to other online platforms to identify the right talent in the market before approaching them across various different means to engage with them and assess if the opportunity suits their needs and have synergy with the role requirements.
My approach is not pushy, more consultative, my role is to pair great people with great organisations, but I understand that everyone is unique, has different needs and isn’t always going to be a great match. I aim to foster long term relationships with any prospective client or candidate to fully understand their needs and offer consultation wherever required, this is not limited to just the job I am working but I aim to add value in every instance by offering concise information about market conditions, salary benchmarking, industry news/trends, topical technical information and give the best advice I have available regarding hiring strategies and interview tips.
I engaged with Blockchain.com in mid-2021 at a time where they needed to scale up their operations within Low-latency engineering beyond the bandwidth available through their internal talent team. Having not partnered with agencies before they needed to ensure their talent function benefited from using external support more than hindered from a time perspective. I quickly established some constructive SLA’s based around delivery and hiring feedback, I took the time to understand their hiring needs and struggles before going to market to deliver the talent required. As a result of this, we were able to quickly build a cohesive partnership that resulted in over 30 placements within a 12 month period, quickly establishing ourselves as their “go-to” hiring partner for technical hires across the business.
